The Cave Part III: Freedom

As soon as they hauled me out, I felt the warm sun beam down on my cold, damped stone body. A helicopter then landed on top of the mountain. Ashley told me, "Don't worry. We will turn you back." She gave me a smile, even though she couldn't see it, I gave her a smile back if only my face didn't get frozen with me sad.


The ride in the helicopter was very bumpy, but I managed. We arrived at the headquarters within an hour maybe even 30 minutes. As soon as we stopped, Ashley and her men picked me up with carefulness and carried me inside the tall and dark building. As soon as we entered the building, they put me in a glass hexagon. I then notice Ashley taking off her shoes, she reminded me of myself, I always go barefoot in a pair of sneakers or boots. Same painted toenails of mine as well.


I saw Ashley walk over and press a button, then I felt a warm feeling developing around me. That's when I saw my feet and my legs regaining it's colorful sight turn back to human. Now I could move my toes, and my legs! The warm feeling went to my stomach to my neck. I could now move my stomach and all my upper body. Now it went to my head, I felt my hair regain it's color as the transformation completed.


I could now blink, feel my black hair, move everything on me. The only thing that wasn't working right were my legs and my eyesight. But I could walk a little better with each step I took. My eyesight came from bad to good as I could now see Ashley running towards me with open arms. I then stepped out of the chamber, hearing only me and Ashley's feet slapping against the hard, warm and cold floor.


I shouted out, "Ashley!" She almost knocked me over when we hugged each other. I asked her how did she find me and how did she turn me back into normal. She sighed and said, "Well..back then, I was stuck in the same position." I was shocked at what she had just said. I asked, "You? Turned to stone? That I find hard to believe." "It's true! I was just walking, and decided to rest and soak my feet in a nearby cave and saw a Orb." "It was a good thing that my friends found me." I asked, "But how did you and me get turned back?"

"Well..they did a lot of research on the orb and there was a theory that the orb has the powers to turn people into stone, but also can reverse the process as well." I told her, "Well, your still like being barefoot it seems." She wiggled her foot and toes. "Yep,so do you it seems." I wiggled my toes and feet too."Yep, I like colorful toe paint.""I will talk to you later about my collection of toe polish, now come I want to tell you where you will be staying at and I will tell you what you missed." We both smiled at each other, both our feet slapping on the ground making echos all around.

No longer was I trapped in darkness. No longer was I trapped in silence. No longer was I lonely. I am now free.
